How it works
Skin needling is a results-driven treatment performed with a medical-grade needling device. Ultra-fine needles create controlled micro-channels in the skin at the epidermal level, activating the skin’s natural regeneration process. This stimulates collagen, elastin, and cell turnover, leading to firmer skin, smoother texture, refined tone, and an overall healthier complexion.
Does it hurt?
Skin needling is generally well tolerated, with only mild, short-lived sensations:
- Light pressure with a gentle prickling as the device glides over the skin
- Subtle warmth or tingling during treatment
- Any discomfort quickly subsides and is minimal overall
Downtime and aftercare
Healing times vary depending on individual skin response. Most clients experience:
- Redness for 1–2 days
- Mild flaking as the skin renews
- Noticeable glow within 5–7 days
- Gradual improvements in tone, texture, and clarity over the following weeks
To maximise your results, regular monthly treatments are recommended as well as following your personalised skincare plan prescribed by your Senior Dermal Therapist.
Is my skin suitable?
Skin needling is safe for most skin types, but is not recommended for those with severe active acne, skin infections, or raised moles. We recommend our Herbal B Peel for active acne.

Additional FAQ
How many treatments will I need?
Results build over time. Most clients need 3–6 sessions for concerns like fine lines or pigmentation, and 6+ sessions for scarring or deep texture. Maintenance every month helps maintain and improve results.
Is skin needling safe for all skin types?
Yes — it’s safe for all Fitzpatrick skin tones. We adjust depth and technique to suit your skin, and may suggest alternatives first if you have active acne or certain conditions.
What can I expect after treatment?
Expect mild redness or swelling, like a sunburn, for 1–3 days. Your skin will feel tighter and may flake slightly, with visible improvements developing over 4–12 weeks as collagen rebuilds.
What's the downtime
Most clients resume normal activities within 24–48 hours. Makeup and SPF can usually be applied the next day, but it’s best to avoid heat, sweating, or active skincare for several days.
Can I have skin needling if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
Yes — we can adapt the treatment to be safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Your therapist will tailor the plan to your stage and skin needs.
Can I combine skin needling with other treatments?
Absolutely. Skin needling pairs well with LED (for healing), RF needling (for lifting and tightening), and peels like Herbal B or Cosmelan, depending on your goals.
